That said, 2 things I personally do, first is to only clean about 1/4' past fitting allowance. The second is to wipe off excess Flux once it is ready to sweat. By doing this you don't necessarily stop it from running down the pipe when sweating vertically, but it doesn't want to grab dirty and non fluxed pipe. So usually you end up with a nice clean joint and if it does run, you can usually pull it off with needle nose pretty easily. Your experiences may vary but with a lot of practice this has helped dramatically.

Im gonna probably order the 3 pack of Cobras I have one pair of 10' Cobras but they are the flat jaw cobras and i friggin love them man they come in so handy for certain things I know Knipex is really expensive compared to channellock but the quality is really really good and I really like the way the handles are designed just everything about them feels quality and well engineered I think Channellocks are very comparable to the Knipex and that says ALOT because they are alot cheaper, they are also made in the US which makes them really desirable for us good ol american boys.
