Hi Im stumped right now kind of and hopefully there is a better solution then what I am doing.i need to speedup long video clips upwards of 8x when i just change the play speed in shotcut it becomes all jumpy and actually looks slow motion. So I have been importing into a alternate program and changing fps to 240 and then resampling at 30fps. This allows me to only need 1.52x play speed and all works fine in shotcut. However is there a solution inside shotcut to do this so I dont need to use the other program? I cant seem to find anything. Have you actually tried exporting these 8x speed clips from Shotcut?Try it if you haven'tI suspect they will be smooth when you export the final video. I often find that when I apply a bunch of effects or change the speed beyond 4x, Shotcut looks very jerky when previewing in the editor.

But this is just the computer struggling to keep up and render all your frames on the fly but it's usually fine when you export it.Speeding things up or Fast-motion just involves skipping over a bunch of frames and playing every nth one. If you had a 24 fps clip and changed it to 4x, it would play every 6 frames since 24/4=6: frame 1, 7, 13, 19, 25.Notice it took 1 second of video & chose 4 frames. The 5th frame (frame 25) is the 1st frame of the next second of the videoIt looks slow motion because Shotcut can't really pre-render a section of a video so it calculates many things as it goes and it's just going by too fast.
