This game flew under a lot of radars when it was released on the PS2 and it's a shame because it's great. For a PS2 game the thing looks great being better looking than even some games today. Plus the hack n slash gameplay is a lot of fun if you're a fan of these types. With the speedy dual wielding samurai and the giant, strong monk who wields what seems a telephone pole, it has a good contrast and both are fun.The game came in in perfect condition and in about a week. Completely satisfied with my order. Lukie is the best!

There are two characters playable and their styles are quite different. Hordes of bad guys attack at a time and you will slice your way through them like a champ.

Genji: Dawn of the Samurai is a beautiful, and satisfying game with a dynamic battle system that uses motion capture to render authentic sword battles that get better and better as the game progresses and as you level up and collect Amahagane, a jewel that enables you to accesss new power levels and Kamui moves. The fact that it is voice acted in Japanese, with subtitles makes this game all the better. The story is compelling, and immersive. The main character, a 16 year old boy descended from a great Genji warrior, is one that is easy to root for, which in my opinion is critical to making a game that I want to continue to see through to the end.
Good verses evil, the bad guys are bad, and the good guys good. The graphics are outstanding and the scenery beautifully rendered. When we look at what games were made for the PS2 with a focus on art, and with an amazing attention to detail, Genji: Dawn of the Samurai is going to stand out as on of the greats.
If you don't own a copy of this game, and you love to play an immersive story, with beautiful graphics, dynamic and ultra-realistic sword battles, then grab the next copy of Genji that you can. It will become more and more hard to find as people rediscover what a great game Genji: Dawn of the Samurai was in it's time, and continues to be today. But the payment had already been recieved, so I decided to check the game out myself. Boy, am I glad I did.This is an incredible game with rich artistry and historic flavor. I think I bought a japanese version, because the game is subtitled. This actually adds to the enjoyment of the game.

The story is very engaging, and keeps you on your toes. You play one of two fighters in old fuedal Japan, avenging the overthrow of their family. Each has their own individual strengths and weaknesses on how to procede throught each chapter of the story.The combat system is based on a timing criterium. Meaning you get better points for attacking at the right time, rather than standard button mashing. Fortunately, your character(s) are given a little 'help' to tell you just when is the right time to strike.Altogether, I would definitely recommend this game.
