My stilo has the deadlock stuck on the rear offside door. It will not open. I have found out how to remove the door card (inner and outer) - but does anyboby know how to remove the door lock Any help would be appreciated Steveif its deadlocked you need a hammer & chisel.my mates stilo had the same poroblem. But if i applied allot of pressure to the top of the closed door whilst he unlocked it the dealock opened.and this works each and every time. Thanks for the advice - which part of the door did he apply the pressure. Top aboove the glass or close to the handle Stevetop corner near the back of the door.at the top of the glass nearest the back of the car apply pressure then unlock.not sure if this is a unique case.but it worked. Not long had my 2004 stilo which is a wonderful car.
Today I was putting little 18 month old in his car seat and he took the key. After locking and unlocking the doors a few times I managed to get the key away from him. Now this may or may not be connected to his activities but I am now unable to open the back doors Even using just the key the front doors open but not the back - The door thing comesSounds like your youngster found a combination where the front doors were open and they hit the deadlocks on with the remote so its deadlocked just the rear doors Were you any good at Tomb Raider Try this Put the key in the drivers door. Turn it twice to the right then once to the left Or do the opposite Twice to the left and once to the right I havent got a 5 door so I cant try it out myself Finc25 kelsea thanked for this postHave a look in this thread for someone who experienced similar problems httpwww. Fiatforum.com stilo11919.nt-unlock.html But as your rear door normal locks are locking and unlocking then your rear door deadlocks must have operated and are in the locked position which is a little different to the above thread Are you pressing the unlock for at least a couple of seconds Are you turning the key in theI use the deadlocks constantly BUT its a 3 door. It seems that the rear deadlocks got stuck (as mentioned above) Dare to play with the double lockingunloking And see what comes up.
May be youll unstuck them) You didnt by any chance turned the baby locka on the rear doors havent you (if present of course) As for the little man try thowing him from the open window Just kidding. You own him an adventure kelsea thanked for this postI believe that removing the battery will not make your radio to ask for code. Even so its easy to get it (just need to take the unit out). By experience i have removed my battery and my radio unit MANY times (cause of electircal works and Loudlink installation) and not once i needed the code.
It is for sure deadlocked. Jamed of course And what can unstuck a stucked electrical motor (like the deadlocks). Just to make sure.
Are indicators supposed to flash when you lock and unlock the doors even though no alarm is fitted pantelis fiat stilo 80 Active no alloys no power tuning love the sky window thoughHi all Im from France and here there is no problem with the flashing indicators as such. When you lock the car the indicators flash just once when you unlock the car they flash twice. When you use the deadlock (you have to press the lock button twice on the remote) it flashes once for the lock sequence and twice for the deadlock activation. I dont have an alarm installed so its just standard equipment Why all this fuss in the UK with the flashing indicators Are they deactivated as standard equipment and only activated on request - fiat stilo Feb 2002 Sassi Grey 5 door 115bhp.
Stilo 1.2 Active 3 Door 2002 The passenger side door is closed and can not open as neither the inside nor outside handles seem to engage the latch any more. The central locking still works and the inside handle still unlocks the door. I assume a linkage has come undone or broken somewhere question is what should I do - is it possible to get at the problem without being able to open the door Any help gratefully received as local garage wants 300 quidDo you have deadlocks Have you been using the deadlocks If so then it sounds like the deadlock is jammed on that door.
Some have found that if you keep trying to release the deadlocks using the keymaybe in the drivers door to save the fob battery they may just start sliding again. Then dont use them again is my advicethey jam and they only succeed in keeping the owner embarassingly locked out of their own car. I believe they were phased out on later cars m1chaels thanked for this postMeh httpwww.

Car has been off the road for 6 months as stepson cant afford insurance. Wanting to put it back on the road and needing mot he started to try and fix door yesterday. Got the trim panel off the door (nice job with the door closed - not) and was removing the door card when we decided to look at how mechanism worked on the driver door to figure out how we were going to proceedWhat happens is that the deadlock jams half way and Body Computer doesnt know where it is and thinks its unlocked because its not locked By manually pushing drivers door deadlock to locked position it thinks deadlocks are on so when you select unlock it also moves passenger door deadlock to unlock.

I tried operating the lock manually but that is solid with no movement either way unlike the passenger side which works as expected.Originally Posted by mhowse Sounds like it could be Dead Lock stuck on that drivers door.did you use the deadlock option to lock the car last time you locked it Unfortunately yes. Would the deadlock prevent the lock from operating with the key - it literally will not turn either direction Immobiliser is a seperate system to dead locking. Deadlocking is electronic no physical connection I believe so key in the door wont help heraldsteve thanked for this postOriginally Posted by Most Easterly Pandas Immobiliser is a seperate system to dead locking.
I realise that I was trying to explain that I probably deadlocked it through force of habit. Originally Posted by Most Easterly Pandas deadlocking is electronic no physical connection I believe so key in the door wont help But would the deadlock prevent the lock from turning The reason I ask is that the lockI went back to the car and repeatedly operated the remote fob including reapplying the deadlock and it released itself Ive tried spraying everything with WD40 but I expect Im going to have to get inside the door and take a proper look at the weekend. Meanwhile I have discovered that the key still wont turn the lock even though Ive doused it in WD40 too so it looks like the lock is seized. Thanks for your help and I promise to be careful not to apply the deadlocks in future.
I have just purchased my first stilo today a 2002 Dynamic 1.6 3 door. I am seeking advice on two issues. First of all I have two key fobs one with three buttons on it and the other without. They both unlock the car but only the one without buttons will start it. I was advised that the non working one needed to be reprogrammed. The thing is I cannot get the alarm to work at all and I was wondering ifOriginally Posted by Kyon147 Hey FionaB I dont know the answer to the first question but I can help a little with the Nav from the Arbarth it can be refitted into other stilos but requires a lot of work. There is a guide on the forum how to do it.
I was going to do it when i go my stilo but its too much work for me lol. Heres the link httpwww. The enchiridion. Fiatforum.com stilo-guide.tallation.html And as far asI checked out the link with instructions for putting in the GPS and I too will NOT be attempting that. This car is in immaculate condition and that all sounds too much like it will leave evidence Thanks for the tip about the deadlock you were right I wasnt engaging it and I am now wondering if there is infact an alarm at all my son is sitting in the car with it deadlocked as we speak and so far there. Good evening all Wonder if any of you may be able to help me with this conundrum.
51reg Stillo drivers door wont open. The handle pulls out on the outside of the car but nothing happens same on the inside too. Ive been able to pull the door card off a little at the top to be able to see down but cant see any way of opening the door to fix the issue. Obviously its more than a pain to climb acrooss from the passenger seat everytime Any advice would be greatfully recieved thanks.eIf you have deadlocks then its highly likely the deadlock has jammed in the locked position. People have had some success with leaning on the door and keep trying with the remote or use the key in the door directly (check the manual for how to use key fob buttons or key blade to lockunlock deadlocks) Some have go the deadlock back in line after disconnecting the battery for an hour or so and tehn. Weird one this morning - the drivers door wouldnt unlock with the remote - I leaned over from the passenger side and opened it. Drove to the petrol station and tried it again (left the window down just in case) - happened again.
Doors all locked oK lock and unlock button on the door worked fine. Anyway got to work tested it all again all seemed to work. Then all of a sudden nothing worked SO I started the engine stopped it again and all was fine again. Confused.have no luck after you have replaced the battery in the key fob then try the following tips Originally Posted by cris1117 Put the key in the nearside front door and try left left right. This within Forum advice resets the dead lock if you still have no luck try the following good old trick. Originally Posted by ABZ stilo. Can someone confirmHi everybody Thank you for your replies My Bravo is a 150 mJet Sport like your blueBravo. So it should have it im fearing this feture is country dependent.

I know how to handle the deadlock i had it on my stilo and loved the fact to leave the car in the yard with windows 1inch opened to let the heat go out. Cant do that with the bravo and it really pisses me off. I will try to go to my dealerOriginally Posted by Hellcat Just 2 presses - as you would double click your computer mouse to open a file. Youll know youve done it when you get the second clunk and the lights flash 4 times. On my dads Bravo you must press it once to lock and then double press to enable the deadlocks it was the same on his old stilo. Hi there can anyone help me My passanger door wont open central locking all seems to be working fine but the passanger door just wont open. Any help on this CheersYou need to use the search on the forum.
I had this problem 3-4 years ago and i documented a means to get the door opening again. But the underlying fault is a failed latch It can be replaced by fiat garage but make sure you can get the door open before you book it in or theyll charge you for a new door card as theyll force it off to get into the latch through the door. For a quick recap you needI had this trouble about 3 hours after I brought the car home I deadlocked it to try it and wished I never did.
After a good half hour of messing with the fob I deadlocked it again and clicked the fob to unlock and it worked. Now and again it ceases but I just deadlock the car again then unlock and its ok. Got up for work this morning went out in the freezing cold and dark at 7am started the car and put the heater on while I sprayed the outside with de icer.
I have no idea how it happened but when I tried to get in the car it was LOCKED. My purse and phone were in there on the front seat the engine was running and I couldnt get in it.
I couldnt even get back in my house as I had locked the door. WokeSomething must have malfunctioned the manual doesnt say a single thing about this. The only case the doors should lock themselves is when the car goes with a speed above 20kmh. It also says something about if you engage the dead lock and a door is open and someone tries to get in they will be trapped inside. The symptoms with deadlock is that you cannot operate the button to lock the car from insideOriginally Posted by vladof Something must have malfunctioned the manual doesnt say a single thing about this. The symptoms with deadlock is that you cannot operate the button. Stayed up till 1 last night but it was worth it I have my indicators flashing now when I lockunlock the car.
As it was 1 I didnt have much time to use it and Im in work now so is there anything else useful on it I know with PeugeotPlanet on the Peugeots you can make the car beep with the key to let you know that normal locking is active instead of deadlocking but Im guessing you cant do this with the fiats but is there anything else useful on it Thank youOriginally Posted by Most Easterly Pandas Light flash once for lock and twice more when deadlocked (3 times in total) I didnt think my car could deadlock until last night ha I only knew because you said about the 3 tiimes in total. Got my new stilo last week its an 02 1.6 16V Active model and I now have my first two problems with it. The first problem is that the car was only serviced just before I bought it but it comes up saying low oil pressure stop engine (weirdly though it only does this when I press the brake but when I press the accelerator it turns off) My other problem which may be linked to it is that my brake lightsMy stilo doesnt flash its hazards when locking mines a 1.2 I dont think its anything to worry about unless you dont hear the deadlocks engaging I had the exact problem you had with the brake lights. When I first got mine the brake lights were always on - I would push the pedal up with my foot from underneath to hold it against the brake light switch LOL I solved it by glueing washers to the top of. Hi all Not had my stilo JTD 53-plate (5-door) for too long and suddenly yesterday the back passenger and driver side doors dont open from inside and outside The front doors are fine and the door lever (the things that go up and down when locked) move up and down fine on all doores when unlockinglocking. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Many Thanks AdamOriginally Posted by adam7871 Ive just read about deadlocks and tried sitting in the car and lockingunlocking it a few times but no luck. Front doors wont operate with remote rears operate with remote and with key in drivers door.(passenger rear lock stem goes up and down but door reamins lockedstuck) Am waitng for owners handbook to arrive in post anybody experienced similar problems Am not sure which options I should select in MY Car preferences. I think there must be something wrong but would rather ask before I book it into garage. MickIve never used my manual key yet but would imagine a prerequisite to getting in the car at all is for ALL deadlocks to be deactivated. The auto-lock feature is standard on all stilos. To test Lock car Unlock Just wait about 30 secs and then youll hear the locks auto-engage Opening any door (or hatch) will disable auto-lock so you dont lock your keys in. Fiat stilo Abarth 2.4 Petrol Drivers door wont open from the outside or inside.
Dont think its a frost issue because its not that kind of weather. It feels like there is nothing there you pull on either and it doesnt feel like anything is attached behind it.
So if it is one of those things I need to get in there see whats going on. My question How do I get in there when the door is shut Is it possibleSo far Internal handle fully attached. External handle not attached. Door doesnt open. So Im thinking its a deadlock jam and external handle unattached. So going to a fiat garage soon unless anyones got anything else.
Lol sorry was typed with one hand whilst eating with the other.hence total shambles. To test your alarm (or even see if you have a working one) - Approach locked car - Unlock it with the fob - Get in the car and shut all doors - Lock it with one press of the fob - Pull the handle of any door (It should open unless youve pressed it twice engaging deadlocks) - If you have a working alarm youllOriginally Posted by mzhussein lol sorry was typed with one hand whilst eating with the other.hence total shambles. Hi folks this is my first ever post i actually drive a clio but my father purchased a 53 plate stilo active two months ago around two weeks ago late at night when checking all the cars were locked i discovered that both the driver and passenger windows were down half way asked my father why they were open and he was adamant that he had left the car with the windows up.now today i hear a car hornremember if you press the lock button twice the car deadlocks ie cant open doors from either in or outside. It will do this from inside maybe the lock button was pushed when going to start the car just push unlock as normal should let you out. If youve got the will to plough through the manual its all there. Hope this might help.
